Terrific Tuesday

A beautiful Tuesday morning in East Texas. The girls are off to camp and Richard is off to work. I just got back taking Jackson to get a summer haircut. He will come back hopefully feeling much better. The place I took him too was interesting to say the least. You could purchase extra services while your dog was enjoying his spa day. This to me is comical. Ok, so here are some of the extras: 10 minutes of a ball or frisbee toss is $5, A 15 minute nature hike is $7, Storytime for 30 minutes is $10, (ok do they really read a book to a dog?), here is the best option Movie and a popcorn for one hour is $20.00. Is popcorn and a movie really necessary for a dog? They also have a drop in daycare and group play on Saturday's from 8-6 for $15.95 a day. Why pay that, I just let Jackson run the hood and he plays with Charly and Honey up the road for FREE....the most comical thing about all this is that I'm sure many dog lovers pay for these "perks" and services for their loved pooches. Oh well, I am a cheap skate and my precious pooch is simply getting a shave. I'll be sure and post a picture of him when I pick him up.
I have a fairly quiet day today. I have a few gifts to go buy and get in the mail today. One will be late as that birthday already passed, if I am efficient enough , the other two will make it on time. Hopefully Richard will be off early and we can go grab some lunch together, I really miss our lunch dates. Alex just called had me laughing. She told the waiter at breakfast she was from "Deep in the heart of Texas". She has her daddy's personality and she is such a beautiful spirit. If she only knew how much those deep in the heart were missing her....I am posting a few pictures of the girls enjoying bathtime the other night. I had asked Kali to run the bath water for me and add some bubbles, she added half the bottle, these pictures are taken after I bathed and there were still TONS of bubbles. They had a great time swimming in the tub....

The were not ducking down or leaning over, the bubbles were really that high their little bodies. They had me laughing so hard that night being silly in the tub. I truly think being a mom is the biggest blessing God has given me after being a wife to Richard!

FOR TODAY June 15th, wow, is it really the middle of June already?

Outside my window...it is hot and sunny. The sky's are blue and bright.

I am thinking...about Kirstin and Kali and wondering how much fun they must be having right now at their first day of DayCamp. They are there with a friend and were SO excited this morning. We might have to make this an annual tradition.

I am thankful for...friends both old and new.

From the kitchen...are a few bags from Home Depot to be put away, and a bunch of bills and paperwork that needs to be sorted through. I REALLY need a desk so I can have a dedicated work area.

I am wearing...denim shorts and a teeshirt appropriately saying "Summer of Love" across the front. Because, I LOVE SUMMER!

I am creating...new relationships.

I am going...to anxiously pick my girls up at 4:30 ready to hear all about their days.

I am reading...the Frazzled Female. I am no longer doing the bible Study on Daniel by Beth Moore, I just felt the intensity and the timing were not right at this time in my life.

I am hoping...to work it out to see my sister this summer. I really want to take the girls also, but with airfare I am thinking the Walkers will have to be entertain just one Burrow and not the whole clan.

I am hearing...my praise play list is playing right now. Music is the way I am closest to God and I LOVE when my music just plays and I can sing along or listen intently. Today I am just listening and not singing.

Around the house...is peacefulness. I am the only one home and it feels nice to have a moment to just me even though I am missing every one of my family members.

One of my favorite things...is lunch dates with Richard. We haven't had one in quite some time but I am hoping for one very soon. Maybe even this week. Maybe even tomorrow!

A few plans for the rest of the week...Tomorrow Jackson is going to the groomers and getting a summer cut, he is shedding EVERYWHERE. I am intending on painting my mantle, shopping for draperies, and finally on Thursday a road trip to the big D to pick Alex up. We will have some time to catch up on the way home with just the two of us!

Kirstin, Kali and Courtney on the last day of school. These three are pretty much inseparable right now and I am loving it. With them, three is NOT a crowd (well most of the time). We are neighbors now and they are loving it. They have attended VBS together, Day Camp together, had sleepovers and many afternoons of swimming. She is a blessing to my girls!

It's been awhile!

It has been a very busy two weeks. We left for Florida the day after school was out. We had a great time and enjoyed being with family and friends. I went a little excessive on the pictures and took 522. I will am going to post a few on my blog and then later add a link if anyone wants to look at all of them. I think the best evening was wiffle ball on the beach. We played with the kids and adults and I truely think the adults had a more fun than the kiddos. We swam, rode bikes, layed out, ate, ate some more and ate some more. This week we came home and I worked VBS at another church in town and Kirstin and Kali attended it. We had a great time and met some new people. Alex stayed in Florida and will be home on Thursday. She is having a great time being spoiled by her Mimi and Papaw and making memories that she will cherish.

This was taken the morning leaving in Moss Point Mississippi. These are all the kids that went with us. We had 10 kids and 10 adults and 2 dogs traveling with us. It was quite a sight!

FOR TODAY Monday May 17th, 2009

Outside my window...Oh my goodness, it's amazingly beautiful. The sky is finally blue, the temp is in the 50's but supposed to get to 78 and NO HUMIDITY.

I am thinking...that I am so ready for summer vacation to officially begin. The day after school gets out, we are leaving for the beach. SWEET! I can't wait.

I am thankful for...new friends!

From the kitchen...I have started to clean the kitchen this morning, so the dishwasher is running, and many cleaning supplies are sitting on the counter waiting to be used.

I am wearing...a hot pink tee shirt and black yoga pants.

I am creating...a repore with the principals here in Bullard and hopefully this will help me in the job search.

I am going...to take Richard and the girls to a Rangers game on Memorial day. It was my anniversary present to him. We are all excited...maybe I can even find us matching tee shirts.

I am reading...a book on Daniel. It is a Bible study by Beth Moore I started last night.

I am hoping...to GET A JOB and SOON!

I am hearing...some whiney country song playing in the background, the washer, dryer and dishwasher and a tractor going down the back country road behind our house.

Around the house...is leftovers from a busy weekend. I am going to get busy doing some cleaning after I am done on the computer this morning

One of my favorite things...is a good bra. The "girls" have really gone south and a bra can make me feel so much better....Ha ha ah and I'm serious!

A few plans for the rest of the week...horse back riding tonight, softball tomorrow evening, a game on Friday, field trips and field day and subbing. Should be another busy week this week.

This was taken Friday night at Kali's ball game. They play both kid and coach pitch. These two swings are when the brought in the coach to throw. She ended up striking out, but we were highly impressed with her form and patience. Not to mention how darn cute she is.

FOR TODAY ...May 7th 2009

Outside my window...the sun is actually shining today. It has been about 2 weeks solid of clouds and rain. It is still cloudy, but at least the sun is trying to peek through. It is very humid and warm the high today is 90.

I am thinking...that I am in that travel mood. I LOVE to get on a plane and go.....

I am thankful for...the sun today. Maybe I can sit outside for a while and enjoy the rays.

From the kitchen...sits my very handsome SONIC Diet Coke on the counter and the rest is clean
The refrigerator is callling my name though. I'm kinda hungry adn it's only 10 AM. I will wait for lunch though and not snack.

I am wearing...some hideous ugly turquiose sweat shorts and a purple TCU teeshirt. Between the humidity and my attire, I am looking pretty rough.

I am creating...NADA.

I am going...to hang a few HOBBY LOBBY finds today in Kirstin's bathroom and my laundry room.

I am reading...again, a big NADA.

I am hoping...that my mom and my Mother in law have a wonderful Mothers Day. I am so thankful for these two women in my life and wish I could be with them both. I will enjoy Mothers Day as a mom though at home with my family.

I am hearing...the hum of the AC and Richard is watching the Food Network.

Around the house...not much is going on, Willy G is laying at my feet, Jackson is outside being Jackson, and the girls are all at school.

One of my favorite things...laying on the beach with friends and family listening to the surf and the kids play. Three more weeks and I will be doing just that.

A few plans for the rest of the week...tumbling tonight, a purse party tomorrow evening, followed by a soft ball game, a much needed hair appointment Saturday morning and hopefully a visit from my sister in law.

Good Wednesday Morning America, or at least Bloggerville!

I haven't just "blogged" in a while. So I thought I would take some quiet time and just sit here and spill a little into the computer. Things are going good in Bullard, we are settled into routine, into our house and loving being here. It's amazing to me how God brought us here and has opened so many doors. The girls have bonded with friends like no other move and Richard and I are starting to have a social life with others also. We run to Brookshires, or the ball fields, or Wal-mart and consistently run into people we know and that is a wonderful feeling. The sense of belonging is strong for me. I think it has something to do with all my childhood moves.

Richard's job is going great, he still loves it. He fished in the Big Bass Bonanza this weekend and didn't win anything but came home with lots of stories and memories and even wants the girls and I to do it with him next year....He is contemplating buying a bass boat. He really wants to be able to fish whenever the desire strikes.

Alex is just maturing everyday. Some of this is good, some is challenging. Mood swings are daily, but she is doing well in school and is currently doing a volleyball camp to introduce it for next year. She also wants to play tennis and basketball next year along with staying in band and doing FFA. She had her FFA banquet last night and came home so excited. She has a great Christian group of girlfriends she hangs with and I am starting to notice where ever we go she gets "checked" out by the opposite sex. This I am not too keen of. Next week is Middle School orientation, who I can't believe she is growing up so much.

Kali is also doing well. She is our social butterfly. She wants to be involved in everything and is not shy but so sure of herself. She had her first softball game last night. They got HAMMERED, but she worked hard and did a great job. Kali is excelling in first grade. Her lowest grade on her report card is a 97 and she is reading incredibly. Holding them back and repeating first grade is one of the best things that could have happened to both Kirstin and Kali.

Kirstin is changing. She is like a caterpillar that goes through stages. She used to be so quiet, so shy and so girly. She now comes home from school FILTHY everyday from playing in the dirt and running and chasing people. She is confident outspoken and insists on having the last word if she is in trouble. She still likes to wear her dresses and look pretty but usually ends up dirty by days end. She has blossomed so much this year. She is also doing very well in school. She takes her tumbling classes and is working towards being on a cheer team next year.

I am happy. Very Happy! I have my family, my friends, and my house and I do feel very content right now. One week from today, Richard and I will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and that in itself is amazing. I might have to write a whole blog on that though that day. I am subbing quite a few days a week and really trying to get my foot in the door. I talked to both principals of the campuses I want to work at and let them know my intentions and certifications. One was very receptive to this and one not so much. I am having complete faith that God will put me in the right position for next year. (hopefully with the receptive principal).

We have met many nice families in the neighborhood. We had dinner a couple of weeks ago with one and then last weekend went to a birthday party at another. The girls are able to go outside and play with the neighbors and we haven't had this for a long time. They love it.

I will close this now as it has been one of my longest blogs. I am thanking God as I write this for my blessings right now. Life is good.
