We just returned from our family vacation 2008 to Sandos Playacar Beach in the Riveria Maya. What a great time we had. The vacation started off to a great note. As we were in the international terminal waiting for our plane to depart, a plane of soliders arrived from Iraq. We got to cheer them on and welcome them home. It was amazing and very touching. It was a great way to start the vacation. The whole terminal was cheering and clapping. It was special for the girls to be able to witness that. I was full of emotion; made me so proud to be American and at the same time, scared me as I know it is possible that Richard could go off one day. We upgraded to first class on the plane and that was an experience also. Nothing like getting catered too. The girls thought that was pretty cool, although we warped them as they wanted it on the way home too. We swam everyday mostly in the pools. The ocean was rough each day and the girls liked the action that went on at the pools. We would leave the room about 8 to 9 each morning and then head back about 4 to 5, get around for dinner and be in bed around 9. We were exhausted each day. Alex and Richard rented a waverunner and had a wonderful time on that. Alex said that was her favorite part of the whole trip. Kirstin, Kali and I "tried" to parasail, but after the wild waverunner ride out to the boat and then rocking on the boat for 20 minutes waiting our turn, Kali began throwing up all over her, me and the boat. As I was trying to clean her up and get her calmed down and situated, Kirstin started over the side of the boat and began throwing up. Well you know where that led to, I had seen enough throw up and smelled enough and rocked enough on that crazy boat, that I started throwing up over the side. To say the least, we did not make it up in the air to parasail. Kali swears she will NEVER step foot on another boat, and Kirstin cried and cried once we made it back to land. It is 24 hours later and I think I am still queazy.....Pretty funny looking back. We went into the main town one day and all three of the girls got their hair braided. They looked so cute. The resort was awesome. I would highly recommend it. The food was fantastic. The grounds were very well kept, and the pools were awesome. It was weird not being in America for the fourth of July. Not sure I really liked that, but they did decorate for the Americans and did a nice dinner and show. We flew in today which is Richards 36th birthday. We were 20 miles from the house after a long day of traveling. We were up at 4:30 this morning to catch the shuttle for the airport. YUCK....anyways, back to the original, we were 20 miles from the house today and was completely rear ended. What a way to end vacation. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but both cars had damage. It was almost a year to the day that my car was totaled last year. We were just commenting on how crazy everyone seemed to be driving today. Anyways, were home and hammered. We're kinda sore as the car was jerked forward, so we are hitting the bed very soon. Mimi is in Texas and is going to come see us tomorrow . I'm excited to see her. I can't wait until they finally move here. Monday I get to go and pick up Willy G at the vet. Hopefully I can figure out the way to attach the link of my pictures on here. I took 494 but deleted a few once we got home, so I think there is about 475 to view. I know, I'm picture happy, but we had such a great time that I wanted to remember every second of it.
