Cool Mornings!

It is our first "cool" morning outside this morning. It is actually in the high 40's. WOW, love it, love fall weather, love putting on my sweatshirt. I just love this time of year. The teasing of Thanksgiving and Christmas being right around the corner! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

The girls just went to school, Richard is at work and I sit here being harrassed by the dogs. I opened the windows to let the coolness come in. It will get to the mid 70's today, and will be just beautiful. All is well in Bullard America. The house is coming along. The sheet rock was finished, it is now being taped and bedded (not sure if I even spelled that correctly), the cabinets are being made, we have successfully filled a huge dumpster with debris as we are doing all our own cleanup at the site. Yesterday Ben and I stained all the cedar posts on the front porch and the back patio, well until we ran out of stain. I have a little bit left to finish. All the interiors doors have been ordered, we measured for the crown moulding and trim work yesterday, the brick salesman is coming out today to measure and it should be started soon. We are deciding now on the interior colors. Wow, it is coming together. Everynight we pray to be in by Christmas. How wonderful that would be.

In a week and a half, my sister will be arriving in Texas for a week. I can't wait. We are just going to visit and relax and probably drive Richard crazy. We tend to be rather silly actually lean towards pretty stupid when we are together. It will be fun. It's been right at a year since we've seen each other, well I guess under a year, we were able to see each other at Grandma's funeral last January. I am hoping to get a trip to Washington in the spring. I haven't been that way in about 5-6 years. I want to see all my neices and nephews. And believe me, I have quite a few in Washington.

Today I am making Halloween costumes. I don't know what it is, but I can't stand to buy them. It just kills me. They can be so tacky looking. After much discussion, Kali is going to be a Ladybug and Kirstin is going to be a cat. Alex is still shopping for possibilities. She's at the age of "do I still dress up or not". I'm weird about Halloween. I love the dressing up and the candy and trick or treating, but I DO NOT let the girls dress scary or ghoulish. They must be something kind and sweet or they can't dress up. No ghosts, witches, bride of frankensteins with these girls. That takes the innocence out of Halloween in my opinion. Anyways, enough of that soapbox, we have a fall festival at their school tomorrow and then one at church Sunday night so I haven't decided if we will trick or treat on the actual night of Halloween. Richard would probably prefer we don't because then he can go ahead and go to the deer lease for opening weekend.

I am REALLY missing my camera. I would love to post pics. I will try to borrow one for Halloween. It really needs to come back soon. I guess it's been about a week since Richard took it to the "shop".

We are heading to Panama City Beach for Mimi's birthday and Thanksgiving. I am so ready. We haven't seen them for way to long. I am blessed with my inlaws, because I love being around them, they spoil us like silly, and we have a genuine relationship. I am counting down the days when Mimi can retire and they move back to Texas. (HINT HINT HINT Mimi). Papaw Gary is the funniest. He reminds me of my grandfather. As a child we used to do my grandpa's hair and nails and just "play" with him. Well the tables are turned now and my girls do that do their Papaw. It is very entertaining the hairstyles that he ends up with. And Papaw Gary is quite the poet. He has some hidden talents that come out in cards he sends us. He truly could get hired on by Hallmark if he applied I think.....

Well I have really rambled on this morning. I hope I haven't taken too much of your time as you read this. Wait, I guess if I had, you could have closed it down huh. I am going to start on the kitty cat costume and lady bug wings.

Are you actually sewing costumes? I am impressed. Sometimes I wish I could sew. I have a few people who could teach me but I have a hard time finding enough time to do it. Gee, I wonder why.

Do you own a Chineese Checkers board? If so, is it in storage? Or should I pick one up? I remember last time I was there we played everyday. We must continue the tradition.

I'm so glad you get to go see Mimi and Papaw for Thanksgiving. I don't know what we will be doing. In the past we have gone to stay with Karen and David, but I don't think we'll be making a trip to Missouri. I've asked Tim if we could have friends over but we haven't come up with who yet. It is just around the corner.

Have a great morning! Love you!

Hey Amy

I love your updates. If I can't be there, I can at least keep up with your day to day. Your thoughts about Gary and I are so sweet. Brought tears to my eyes. We really do miss you guys and can't wait till retirement!! I loved the story about the girls playing beautyshop with Papaw. He was such an "Archie Bunker" and those girls have melted his heart. He is such a teddy bear around them. We love you like our own daughter and so glad you love to be around us even though we are pretty boring. Keep looking for us a house!!
