Making Memories Burrow Style

We had a wonderful first weekend in our home. It started Friday afternoon with a visit from Richard's brother, Ryan and his wife Amanda, and their son Blake. They arrived late afternoon and we had a late Christmas enjoyed fajita's on the grill, visited and let the kids play. Saturday morning Ryan and Richard took Kali to her basketball game while Amanda and I hung out here at the house. We enjoyed a great local hamburger for a late lunch and they headed out back home around three. We loaded up and went to Tyler to get some shopping done for Alex's birthday sleepover. The first guest arrived Sunday afternoon around 3 and then they continued to trickle in until we had 10 extra girls. I was a little uptight about the party as this age can be full of drama, but to my surprise.....we had NONE. It was such a polite and respectful group of girls. Alex had a memorable time. She even let Kirstin and Kali hang with the "big girls" all evening. I went upstairs to quiet them down around 3. I just wanted the doors to quite shutting and the stomping up and down the stairs to stop. At 3:30 Richard went up and said lights out, tv out and go to sleep. They succeeded with the first two but at 5:30 we still heard giggles and chit chat. Those crazy girls finally went to sleep around 6 AM. The last guest left this afternoon around three. It is quiet in the house now, only 6:30 in the evening and All three girls are in bed asleep while Richard is in the game room watching TV and I am "working" (more like playing) on the computer, and watching TV in the living room. I am enjoying having some furniture again. It has not all been delivered, but we do have chairs. YIPPEE.
Alex playing her clarinet. She had gone from chair 13 to second chair. She is amazing. She was leading the "band" here. Kali is on the tamborine and Blake and Kirstin on the xlophone Kali missing many teeth waiting for the guests to arrive.Kirstin also waiting for the guests to arrive.
We found some old pictures of Alex and hung them for her friends to watch her grow over the years.
Getting ready to pass the gifts out and waiting for the rest of the girls to be rounded up.

The passing out of the gifts. One of the girls wrapped up a tissue box and on the gift bag was a card that said, "I'm sorry I couldn't get you much but here is a small gift." The gift sack had a pair of handcuffs and a box of kleenex. Alex's face was priceless. She didn't know what to say, but Keisha had actually taken all the tissue out and put a game for the Wii in the very bottom of the box. It was too funny! Great sense of humor for 12 years old. Getting ready for some dinner.
