The Burrow Family July 2008

Another fine Monday morning. The girls started their third week of school this morning. They were tired, still not used to balancing school and sleep I guess. We had a nice weekend. Friday night we didn't do anything. Just hung out here at the house. Saturday we had a birthday celebration for me. Even though my birthday is not for a few more days, we had to do it last weekend as I have class and Richard is on call this weekend. Ben and Andrea along with the kids, Micheal and Kristy, and Mom and Dad came over and Richard grilled a feast. We had steaks, corn on the cob, and jalapeno poppers on the grill, then we had homemade fries and also carrot cake and salad. It was DELICIOUS and a nice afternoon. There was a game of Scrabble, football throwing, and slip and sliding with the kids. Sunday we went to church, we are still not sure of this church, but God keeps leading us back there. I think because of the kids programs. It is where we feel the kids will meet alot of other kids and we really want them to feel warm and welcome. We do get that there. After church we ate leftovers for lunch, I read and napped, Richard watched football and of course flipped between the Food Network also, and the girls played. Some friends of ours are building a house in Tyler so they had a slab party last night. We went over and set our chairs up on their slab and ate, visited, and toasted to their new house. It was fun. I am enjoying meeting all the people Richard works with. We, of course, then had to drive out to our land last night and walk through AGAIN for the 100th time. When we pulled up some neighbors of ours were walking through the house and we stayed and visited with them for a few minutes. We had met them a few times before being out there and seeing them in the neighborhood, but I am really looking forward to getting to know them. She seems really genuinely nice and also doesn't work. Hopefully we can build something there. Today I am heading into Tyler, I have a birthday shirt that was too small and I need to exchange. Then I am going bathtub shopping, how fun is that? Richard just called and said that we need to have the tubs and all the plumbing fixtures picked out by next week. We also have to have the paint colors picked out for the parts on the house that aren't bricked. We have the general ideas in mind, but haven't narrowed it down. I am heading to the shower now. I have got my laundry started and also my walking done. I do wish I had someone to call and ask to go to town with me. It would definately be funner with someone, but I will cherish this quiet time I have now and not complain.

Hey Amy

Love to sit and read your blog. Makes me feel closer to home. It sounds like you all are really getting in to your life in Bullard.
It sounds like you are lonely right now but.....remember how many times you have moved and how many friends you made each time??? The same will happen in Bullard....Just be patient!! All good things come with time. You will have that beautiful house and will entertain and have parties and oh what a good time you will have making new friends. Hang in there.

Love you
