Thursday Happenings

A beautiful quiet morning is going on in East Texas today. I have just dropped the girls off at school and stopped by Sonic for a diet coke. I have a day of cleaning, sheet washing, and packing ahead of me and wanted to start with a bang. Sonic was calling Amy, Amy, Amy. Tomorrow I will drive to Dallas to pick up my inlaws. They are keeping the girls while we head to San Francisco. Richard and I fly out Saturday around noon. We are so excited. We have been looking up websites and information on what to do., wineries to visit, restaurants to eat at, and where to visit. I can't seem to talk Richard into a hot air balloon ride. He said the bottom would probably fall out of the basket. They first evening we are going to go see my aunt Susie and her husband Neil. We have never met Neil and are going to enjoy some family time. They will show us around San Francisco on Sunday and then we will part ways that afternoon and head to Napa. The weather is not favorable while we are there, rain everyday, but I have decided, that might just add to the romance. Woo-hoo, I am excited. I will admit, I am nervous about flying with all the plane accidents lately. I know that we are in God's hands, but it is times like these I worry a little extra about my girls. I know they are in great hands though.

Alex has her mock tryouts for cheer tonight. She has been sick off and on all week and I felt awful for her this morning while dropping her off. Monday she was home with the stomach bug, she had both ends running non stop. She went back to school Tues and Wends and then last night started again. She went to school this morning looking very pale yet feeling very green. I pray for calmness in her as I think some of it is nerves for tonight. She has been working so hard at learning the dances and cheers and chants. Actual tryouts are next Friday.

Kali is starting riding lessons next week. She is pumped. The instuctor called last night and has an opening. Kali LOVES horses. I think this will be her passion and am excited to see her start.

Kirstin is going through a loud phase. She wears us out with her voice. She is so passionate and excited about life and as she tells us a story or explains about her day, the voice just gets louder and louder and higher and higher. We had a talk about it this morning. I'm so excited she is happy in life, but goodness, let's be happy just a tad bit quieter. She is such a care free little girl.

All else is good here. I enjoyed my sub position on Monday and Tuesday. The kids are so pleasant. Richard's work is going great yet he is looking forward to having next week off. I sit here sometimes and look around and just smile. I am at such peace in my life right now. It is calm, the girls are happy and involved, we are happy, we are making connections and friends here, and I'm so thankful to God for bringing us back to East Texas, yet bringing us to a place where we still get to plant our own seeds.
